  • VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE SUPPORTED BY THE EMBASSY OF JAPAN

    ACRD has set-up a vocational training and skill development centre at Barpratima village, Rani Block of Kamrup district. The Embassy of Japan has financially supported ACRD through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) for the construction of the centre. A contract was signed between the Embassy of Japan and ACRD on March 15th, 2016 with the objective of imparting skill development training to school drop- out and unemployed girls of the project area for livelihood generation.

    The training centre was inaugurated in April, 2017. The centre offers training courses on the following trades – cutting & tailoring, computer, weaving and Spoken English for a period of six months. After the end of the training period, the girls/women are linked to financial and marketing agencies for income generation.
